Overview
Osiris Theatre is a simple mission designed with the F-16 in mind. It is based upon the Israeli strike on the Iraqi Osirak nuclear reactor in 1981. The mission is intended to be flown at low level along a planned route, avoiding detection by aerial threats. Failure to do so will result in a massive scramble of aerial defenses and put the target area on high alert.
The mission was intended as a primer for the F-16 module, with a simple fixed objective and focus on low level flight. It is not a short mission, with an overall flight distance of 750nmi or about 3 hours total play time.
Objectives
There is only one objective: destruction of the nuclear reactor at Objective Orange. Within it, all 4 buildings must be destroyed to count as mission success. Attack coordination is paramount as after the first target is hit, the air defenses will activate and make any subsequent attack very difficult. Achieving this objective will take careful low altitude flying as well as fuel management.
Considerations
Threats are not numerous in this mission; they mostly consist of Hawk SAMs and low altitude AAA, with a number of fighter patrols that may activate if players are detected. This is countered by the player’s equipment being limited to much older and less capable systems, such as AIM-9L. Fuel will be a large constraint as well, since the mission mandates flying below 6,000ft. Avoidance of threats is the key to success.
There are weapon restrictions in the mission: only AIM-9J/P/L, AIM-7E/F, AIM-54AMk47/60, Mk80 series bombs, Mk20 series bombs, Paveway II GBUs, and unguided rockets are allowed.
AI assistance may be requested, which will generate 4 F-16s and 4 F-15s that will attack Objective Orange. This option will be removed if any player takes off. If used, it is recommended that players keep pace with these aircraft as they will readily fall prey to hostile defenses if activated.

AI Flights
AI aircraft are not numerous in the mission, nor are they persistent. Only a handful of aircraft are active at the start. If the players have been detected, then F-4, F-5, MiG-21, and F-14 aircraft will scramble to patrol the area. Otherwise, only neutral M-2000Cs are actively present.
AI assistance will generate 4 F-16Cs and 4 F-15Cs to attack the primary objective.
